Beauty Boxes, Make Up, Skincare, Small Businesses, Uncategorized

I’ve recently stopped my monthly Witch Casket, mainly so I have time to use items up and just enjoy a break. And as I used to get monthly beauty boxes but haven’t for 18mths, I thought I would go back to my favourite one, it’s £13.00 a month if you have a 12mth subscription or £15.00 one off a month.

My skin is needing some extra loving care, and my hair with perimenopause and bleach/colouring can always do with a bit of spoiling. As I confess I’m a lazy ass maintenance girl, especially over summer months, opting to camp, hike and just generally be outdoors.

Peter Thomas Roth is £35.65 for 30ml, we get 5ml this is worth £5.94 Available here

Firms and smoothes the under-eye area instantly to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, fine lines, deep wrinkles and swelling.

Application:

Start by cleansing with an oil-free cleanser. Make sure skin is completely dry. Do not use cream around the eye area. Shake the tube. Apply a pea-sized amount to the top of the hand. Using a make-up brush, pick up a tiny amount of the product.
Using upward strokes, spread a thin layer of the gel underneath the eyes for puffiness, over the crow’s feet area, over the “11” lines between the brows, and beneath and above the brow bone (but not on the moveable eyelid).
Let the product dry for approximately five minutes while remaining completely expressionless. Do not squint or smile.
When product is completely dry, feel free to apply powder or gently pat on foundation

Peter Thomas Roth instant fix primer 2ml sample, to buy 30ml it’s £40.00 Available here

No-filter primer instantly tightens, firms and blurs the look of skin for flawless makeup application, temporarily reducing the look of fine lines, pores and imperfections. Easy to use for everyday wear and suitable for all skin tones and types, even those with less advanced signs of aging.

I love the new style boxes, easier to reuse for other purposes, though obviously not as pretty as they used to be. But as the world becomes more ethical, and environmental it’s a good move.

Beauty Boxes, blogmas 2023, Make Up, Skincare, Uncategorized

It’s a last box (I think so) but what a box to end on. The theme is Hydration, Hydrated skin is happy skin.

I’ve been on the beach so skin is needing the extra hydration this box will provide.

With the usually hot weather we’ve had this is perfect. Sad to be leaving, but I do need to use what products I’ve built up over the last year.

Beaches, Beauty Boxes, Make Up, Skincare

I have another 5 months of these boxes before the subscription runs out, so it’s intriguing to know what I will get in each box. I decided to end the subscription as I like to have breaks to use up the products I have received, and to not hoard too much too.

Avant Hyalu Replenish Lip Balm 10ml RRP £56.00

I’m in a quandary with Avant, as the prices are ridiculous, yet I only ever see them in boxes, are they specifically created for boxes alone? Or are they sold in their own right? Who is paying £56.00 for 10ml of a lip balm? But I can’t lie I have always absolutely loved each Avant product too. For satin-smooth, hydrated lips, this lip balm will leave lips irresistibly soft, youthful and nourished, perfectly kissable! It combines the ingredients of Hyaluronic Acid and Cupuacu Butter.
Hyaluronic Acid aims to penetrate deeply into the lips to hydrate and instantly help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
Cupuacu is rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, fatty and amino acids. Being from the cocoa family, Cupuacu aims to improve the tone and texture of your lips whilst protecting them against damage caused by free radicals.

Aveeno Oat Gel Moisturiser 6ml (no price or info was given)

This felt like a cop out product, not sure if it was a meant to be a box of 5 items and this is a freebie, or what. There was no explanation. But 6ml is tiny, it’s a one use wonder, so you can’t really test whether you like it or not, or how the skin behaves. I’m sure it’s lovely but I was disappointed in the size. Even if it’s a freebie.

Box value if I discount the price tag of Avant and made it more sensible, is around £58.00 but they price it at £106.00 for £13 a month is definitely worth it. But I do feel the quality has gone downhill slightly since Brexit and the availability of products and brands getting slimmer.
