It’s Christmas Eve and usually physio stops for no man, well doesn’t stop for much, usually I only stop if I’m away from home. But if I’m away from home we usually walk, which isn’t painfree by any means, so I class that as my physio, especially as walking seems harder to do.

But I’m poorly so it’s been hard to do much physio this week. As I’ve had packing for our getaways to family to do, and chores that go along with life to do. I have a nasty cough and when I cough it pulls the thigh of the most recent replaced hip! Not fun at all, it’s hindering me to do much. It’s making the thigh swell up as it’s pulling a muscle in the front of the thigh.

Thankfully earlier this week we had got out to Mam Tor (mother hill, or shivering hill) to see the Winter Solstice sunrise and sunset. We did a small walk which I did it without shoe insoles, and shockingly it did feel better? Could this be because the hip bridges are finally working??

This week I signed up for Yoga with Adrienne new 30 day programme. Sign up Here it starts on 1st January and though I’ll be behind as I struggle to do it daily, it’s still nice to have a goal, and community to do it with.

So I bid you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and I’ll see you soon after my break away.

Technically Pinocchio by Del Toro on Netflix isn’t a Christmas movie, but it’s come out on 9th December, and it’s a musical so for me it’s a Christmas movie 😂😂😂

Never been a Pinocchio fan before, and this really blew me away, not only the craftsmanship of creating it, but the story is one I’ve never seen before, I was transfixed. Beautiful story, I loved it.

I always love the Christmas Carol films and again so wonderfully created and well told, you think you know the story but they always add their own spin on the classic tale. It’s one to keep as a traditional Christmas movie watch.

Another Christmas Carol tale but so modernised, and a musical. Really thought I was going to hate it. But as it happens it was actually genius film, I’ll be storing this as a firm favourite as well.

Deck the Halls, one of the BEST films as it doesn’t feature heavily on love story’s or princes and the usual Hallmark rubbish. Just high jinks and humor. Exactly what you need, when the pressures to be perfect are getting to you.

SammyDesins is Passionate about fabric and the excitement of reworking upcycled and recycled materials into things of beauty.
Sammy began using her mother’s hand operated sewing machine at the age of three, how cool is that? As it was always out on the dining room table and she began using her mother’s scraps to make clothes for her toys. Sammy has always been a bit of a magpie with fabric, unable to resist colour and pattern and with a desire to fashion it into something joyful.

A few years ago she and her husband were lucky enough to move to the coastal town of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. During our house renovations they met an upholsterer. She was horrified to discover that he discarded the off-cuts of fabric from his work. Not any more! Becausesge never know what she’s going to get and because she rarely receive large pieces, she lets the fabric dictate its use to me and the bag she can make with it. To that end she have reworked/designed a small range of bag patterns that best lend themselves to these random pieces of fabric. The linings are in the main recycled curtains and bedding from local charity shops (all washed of course!). All other trimmings and embellishments are sourced locally wherever possible. Sammy’s ethos is to repurpose, recycle, save on waste and keep down the carbon footprint. Her belief is that there is no reason why things of beauty cannot also be environmentally friendly.

Three years ago she began selling my bags in a small shop locally and also by word of mouth across the island. She is now really excited about the prospect of selling across the UK via my Etsy

Another fabulous #mhhsbd member to share is Helen, of Lizbet Felt Creations. She bought her first felting kit in November 2019 and she’s been felting ever since! With felt she finds enjoyment in experimenting with things to make, as well as a relaxing pastime too.

From that first Angel she created she knew it would be one of many many more. However she’s doesn’t just create angels, she does so much more too, taking inspiration from nature, so you will find hedgehogs, penguins and robins.

My own penguin from Lizbet. Can’t wait to pop him onto our Yule tree.

As Needle felting is a slow art. The shop is subject to change, as she does list them as fast as she can make them. So worth keeping an eye on the shop.

I also have two other shops, Crafter’s market uk and Ko-fi where you will find different creations to the ones you see here on Etsy

Still with my fellow #mhhsbd members this time I’m highlighting a charity for lurchers, these dogs hold a special place in my heart, as my youngest daughter loves them.

Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue

The Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue was set up in 1989 by Pip Singleton who started bringing Greyhounds and Lurchers into her home in an attempt to stop them being destroyed.

The EGLR rescue grew and is now run by about 10 volunteers and has foster homes that look after and raise funds for the 70+ dogs being cared for at any one time.

Now I spoke to Teresa who runs the Twitter side of the charity, and I found out they have a Facebook page Here an Etsy store too Here On the Lurcher.org.uk site you can sponsor or adopt doggies. But you can also help with finding this charity with some beautiful craft items too.

Christmas present tags £6.00 Here
Christmas rag wreath £18.50 Here
Queen Elizabeth stamp art £21.50 Hete

So give a gift with a difference this year and help a rescue charity instead. Let’s prove dogs really are a man’s best friend.

Christmas has arrived at Shugborough and we are local, so we spent a wonderful Autumnal afternoon, having a stroll around the National Trust Shugborough Hall and Estate.

We walked around the house, both the lord’s area as well as servants quarters, both were beautiful, and had Christmas trees to gaze at.

I love stately homes and with the likes of Downton Abbey it’s easier to visualise how they lived and worked in these houses. I missed the love of art that new homes don’t show, attention to detail just because it’s pretty. Forever grateful we can visit areas like this to bring the past to life.

Art is a passion of mine, I adore the creativity and emotions a painting can bring. And here is Kate from Handmaiduns.

Handmaiduns is a business created by Kate and she works with acrylics to create one of a kind pieces of unique artwork.

Struggling with BPD which had completely encompassed her life, Art and creativity has given Kate a purpose, some stability and joy.

Kate loves music, nature, sacred geometric patterns, and mysteries along with art too.

Art doesn’t have to be one dimensional and I found Kate because I saw this amazing skirt online that she’s created. Art to wear.
