I hope you have seen this amazing film on Netflix, it has one princess and one witch girl, best friends and a school of 2 halves. I absolutely LOVE it.

So I ran when I spotted Make Up Revolution were doing a collaboration with the film. I had to buy some pieces. But am I an Ever or Never? If I’m honest I’m a bit of both.

I managed to get a Never’s perfume 100ml for £6.00 and it has a crystal ball on the top of the lid, a gold snake on a chain and it’s beautiful.

I also got 2 liquid eyeshadow duos. So one is for the Ever’s a beautiful Nude and stunning Gold shimmer colour. And the Never’s one is a delicious Black and vibrant shimmery Green. These were £3.00 each.

Lastly I got a double sided Palette, so you can indulge each side of yourself. Can have one for daytime and one for nighttime. The Palette was £9.00.

It’s a shame I couldn’t get natural daylight photos, but it’s been so dark and grey each day here. But what a beautiful collection. It certainly is a treat to own. You can find some other pieces Here in the sale too.

Deep in the Peak District lies an enchanting area known as Luds Church. A mossy covered chasm, that transports you from reality to a world of wonder.

Through the Fairy Portal we go.

Though muddy in places the cold, damp walls are whimsical and invoke childlike wonder when walking through. Can you imagine the history this place has??

Lud’s Church has a renowned place in history and legend. It starts in the early 1400s and the chasm is said to have been used as a secret place of worship for Lollards, (unsure if this is actually true or not), reforming Christians who were opposed to many practices of the Roman Catholic church and who were persecuted for their beliefs. It is assumed that the ‘Lud’ of the title came from Walter de Lud Auk, who was captured at Lud’s Church during one of their meetings.

For at least a century a wooden ship’s figurehead stood in a high niche within Lud’s Church. I would of loved to have seen that. It was placed there by the previous landowner in the mid 1800s, it was known as ‘Lady Lud’ and was reportedly placed there in memory of Alice, the daughter of Walter de Lud Auk. Tales say her ghost still haunts the ravine, and to be honest it’s certainly not hard to conjure up images of apparitions here.

Long before the arrival of the Lollards, it is likely that Lud’s Church would have been a place of pagan worship. Sunlight really only penetrates to the depths of the chasm during the height of summer, and it is quite possible that it was the site of Midsummer ceremonies. Indeed, it is still possible to see occasional offerings hidden on the natural shelves and within the dark, overgrown crevices.

Lud’s Church is one of the most likely contenders for the location of the Green Chapel, a key setting in the medieval poem and well known Arthurian story, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Over the centuries it has also been associated with tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, possibly as a place of refuge and hiding from his enemies.

Whatever your beliefs, it remains that Lud’s Church is a fascinating place to explore, well worth the trip into the woods.

It’s Monday and we’ve decided to get away and visit Padley Gorge in the Peak District. It’s a romantic fairy style woodland walk, and we were hoping to have a nice autumnal walk.

Through the quarry we amble, it feels ancient, quiet and eerie in its energies. And we found lots of mushrooms however the leaves aren’t as orange as we had hoped, but that just means I’ll have to come back again. Spooky in places, but I would totally wild camp here.

Didn’t find any chicken in the woods mushroom though I certainly had a damn good look for it. But we did find many others and I can’t wait to cross reference them in my foraging book. Didn’t pick any as I’m unsure of what is safe.

Beautiful buildings and ruins of a chapel were along the way, the drizzle rain didn’t stop us from enjoying the sights too much.

Into the woods it is whimsical along the river, as you can watch the water cascade and run in various places, the sound is constant and comforting, very lord of the rings fairy tale feeling. It’s my favourite part of this very varied walk.

Leaving the woods behind it opens up into moorland again and we are at the end of our walk, only owler rock to end on near the car park. A nice easy stroll for the day as the back pain is forever present, and hip isn’t feeling it’s best.

What a fabulous end to an incredible walk, weather was changeable, but we didn’t get too wet at the start, so that was goo. We had blue skies in the end.
